100 Days — Writing

Loop Hole — I'm at 61 days of 100 and I've missed 18. Last week, work and rehearsals ate everything, so instead of posting crap I posted nothing. Then I found myself a loophole.

How many days do I have left? No, not on earth. Not turns left in my mortal coil. I mean writing and doodling in the self-imposed 100 Days Project. Thank you for asking, dear reader, and for bringing this to my attention. Again.

I am at 61 days of 100 and have missed 18. I missed a lot of days last week because of an insane work and rehearsal schedule, and I ran out of energy and time to do everything I wanted. Instead of posting crap, I didn’t post writing or doodles for a week, and I gave myself a clever way out of this mess: I have until the end of my 100 days to finish my 100 posts and doodles. That’s 57 in 39 days. Ha!

“But Dargie, isn’t that cheating?” you decry.

I say it’s not. Something I’ve realized (actually, “remembered” is a better word) is that some days I am ridiculously productive and creative, and some days (or weeks, in this case) I’m not. What would be the difference if I wrote 100 pieces and did 100 doodles, then launched my “100 Days Project” and just auto-posted them every day, versus doing some one-a-day and some three-a-day and then back-posting them?

“Ha! Ha!” I say!

This is the way. And suddenly a weight is lifted, depression recedes, the clouds part, and the sun shines again.

And then it snows. Because I live in Calgary.
