One of the perks of a gruelling rehearsal schedule for a Loose Moose Kids’ Show is being at the Crossroads Market every weekend. It’s also one of the hazards, because of the food vendors. Recently, I discovered Protein Point YYC.

I’m not a health food nut, but I do appreciate good, fresh, whole food to power a rehearsal day. I’m not saying a plate of bacon and eggs is a bad thing, and I’m not throwing shade at a turkey bacon grilled cheese (we’ve had a good run, you and me). But could I, in good conscience, fill my belly with bacon before directing these precious pigs in their battle against the Big Bad Wolf? There’s something powerful about walking into a room full of grown adults playing pigs for four hours with a belly full of fresh veggies and egg salad from a breakfast bowl pack instead of a brick of cheese and regret.

Washed down with an iced latte, naturally. Breakfast of champions.
